Li Xinchuang, Secretary of the Party committee and chief engineer of the metallurgical industry planning and Research Institute, said today at the green, low-carbon and high-quality development conference of Jiangsu iron and steel industry association that the action plan for carbon peaking and carbon reduction in the iron and steel industry is being prepared and has formed a revised and improved draft. Li Xinchuang said that after many internal discussions, the first draft of the action plan will be completed in December 2020, and the revised and improved draft will be formed after many external discussions. The main contents of the action plan include general requirements, main measures, safeguard measures, key tasks, etc. In terms of key tasks, eight action plans are involved, including action plan for reducing BF fuel ratio and action plan for promoting EAF short process steelmaking.
